Best movies: April 2007

Here are my favorite movies from last month:

• La Cucaracha. You've probably never even heard of it, but this is one of the best movies I've seen in a while.
• 300. Don't listen to the CGI critics! I'm no fan of computer enhancements in movies, but in this case of a fantastical fantasy film, they make perfect sense.
• The Woodsman. A must watch movie.
• Bad Santa. Billy Bob Thornton at his best.

Also a couple of good ones that merit mention:

• Skeleton Key. Pretty scary.
• A Little Thing Called Murder, a nice TV movie with the great Judy Davis.
